A woman will appear in court today charged after allegedly throwing a statue at and assaulting two police officers in the state’s Central West last month.
About 12pm on Tuesday 12 May 2020, Detectives from the State Crime Command’s Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad attended a home at Condobolin to speak with the occupants in relation to an unrelated matter.
A 41-year-old woman allegedly became verbally abusive toward police before throwing a large porcelain dog statue in the direction of a female Detective Senior Constable.
When a 67-year-old female relative attempted to intervene and assist police, the younger woman allegedly punched her in the stomach.
Following a brief struggle, the younger woman was arrested and taken to Condobolin Police Station, where she allegedly scratched a male Detective Senior Constable.
The woman was charged with three counts of assault officer in execution of duty, resist officer in execution of duty and common assault.
She was granted strict conditional bail to appear at Parkes Local Court today (Tuesday 2 June 2020).
