NSW police charge woman with murder

A woman has been charged with murder after a man was allegedly deliberately struck with a vehicle at Wentworth Point last night.

About 8.30pm (Saturday 27 June 2020), emergency services were called to the carpark of a unit complex on Hill Road, after reports a man had been struck by a Toyota Kluger, pinning him against a brick wall.

The 31-year-old man was treated by police and NSW Ambulance paramedics but died at the scene.

The driver of the Toyota, a 44-year-old woman, was arrested and taken to Concord Hospital under police guard, to receive treatment for a fractured wrist. She also underwent mandatory testing.

Officers from Auburn Police Area Command established a crime scene – which has been examined by specialist forensic police – and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Upon her release from hospital, the woman was taken to Auburn Police Station and charged with murder (DV).

Police will allege in court that the man and woman – who were known to each other – were involved in a verbal altercation, before the woman got in the Toyota and deliberately struck the man, causing fatal injuries.

The Quakers Hill woman was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Bail Court today (Sunday 28 June 2020).
