Police are investigating a suspicious house fire in the Hunter Valley overnight.
About 8pm yesterday (Monday 2 September 2019), emergency services were called to a home on Buddens Lane, Muswellbrook following reports a house was well alight.
Four people were able to self-evacuate, along with nine puppies inside the property.
Fire crews extinguished the blaze a short time later.
The damage is estimated to be approximately $300,000.
Officers from Hunter Valley Police District attended and established a crime scene.
