NSW police lay charges after drugs, house-breaking tools found in car at Inverell

A man has been charged after drugs, drug paraphernalia and house-breaking tools were allegedly found in a car he was driving on the state’s North yesterday.

About 1.45pm on Tuesday (30 November 2021), officers to New England Police District attempted to stop a silver Ford Falcon on Killean Street, Inverell, following checks on the vehicle.

The man turned into a business carpark and allegedly ran down the side of the business.

Additional police arrived to assist with the search, and found the driver in a nearby stormwater drain where he was arrested.

When officers searched the vehicle they found cannabis, drug paraphernalia and a bag containing house-breaking implements.

A 38-year-old man was taken to Inverell Police Station and charged with drive motor vehicle during disqualification period, not comply with direction to stop/move, and possess house-breaking implements.

He was refused bail after appearing in Inverell Local Court today (Thursday 1 December 2021); he’s due to reappear at same court on Friday 21 January 2022.
