Police have charged a man after he allegedly crashed his utility into a brick wall, takeaway shop and car while allegedly drink-driving in the Blue Mountains, during Operation Stay Alert.
Operation Stay Alert began at midnight on Friday (5 June 2020) and concludes at 11.59pm on Monday (8 June 2020), with officers targeting speeding, drink and drug driving, driving while fatigued, mobile phone, helmet and other traffic offences.
About 8:40pm yesterday (Friday 5 June 2020), a 45-year-old man allegedly crashed his Mazda BT-50 utility into the wall, shop and car on Ross Street, Glenbrook, before allegedly trying to leave the scene.
He was detained by a witness before officers from Blue Mountains Highway Patrol arrested him and took him to Springwood Police Station, where he allegedly returned a breath analysis reading of 0.102.
The man was issued a Court Attendance Notice (CAN) for drive with mid-range PCA, negligent driving, not give particulars to other driver, and not give particulars to owner of damaged property.
He is due to appear at Penrith Local Court on Thursday 3 September 2020. The man’s licence was also suspended.

- About 8.23pm (Friday 5 June 2020), a 44-year-old man allegedly returned a breath analysis reading of 0.239 after being stopped by Bega Highway Patrol on the Princes Highway, Bega. He was issued a CAN and is due to appear at Bega Local Court on Tuesday 25 August 2020.
- A 30-year-old woman was arrested following an alleged pursuit in Broken Hill just after 9pm (Friday 5 June 2020). She was charged with police pursuit – not stop – drive dangerously and drive motor vehicle while licence suspended. She was refused bail and appeared before Broken Hill Local Court today (Saturday 6 June 2020), where she was formally refused bail to appear at Dubbo Local Court on Thursday 11 June 2020.
