Police are at the scene of a single-vehicle fatal crash in Sydney’s south-west.
Just before 4.30am, (Sunday 19 January 2020), emergency services were called to the Hume Highway, Douglas Park, after reports of a crash.
Officers from Camden Police Area Command attended and found a vehicle that appears to have left the roadway, rolled down an embankment and caught fire.
NSW Fire and Rescue attended to extinguish the blaze.
NSW Ambulance paramedics attended; however, one man died at the scene. A second man was treated and taken to Liverpool Hospital in a serious condition.
A crime scene has been established and with the assistance of the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit, will be forensically examined.
Lane one of the northbound lanes of the highway is currently closed and motorists are advised to slow down and take care.
