A stolen excavator and caravan are amongst 58 items recovered during a search warrant on the Mid North Coast as part of an investigation into a fraud syndicate.
In May 2019, detectives from the State Crime Command’s Financial Crimes Squad established Strike Force Forth to investigate the acquisition and use of fraudulent credit cards across the Central Coast.
As part of the investigation, detectives also conducted inquiries into a break-in at a car dealership at Kariong on 24 March 2019, which was suspected to be linked to the fraud syndicate.
During the break-in, three high-powered Holden Commodores were stolen by three unknown persons.
Earlier this week, a 45-year-old man was arrested and charged at Woy Woy. He remains before the courts.
Following further inquiries, detectives executed a search warrant at a rural property at Yarranbella, 20km west of Macksville, about 8am yesterday (Thursday 29 August 2019).
During the search, police located property allegedly purchased with fraudulent credit cards, a stolen caravan, a stolen excavator and attachments, a large amount of property allegedly stolen from industrial sites on the Central Coast, a stolen motor cycle, stolen farming equipment and other items suspected to be the proceeds of crime.
All items were seized for further analysis.
Investigations are continuing, and further arrests are expected.
