A civilian employee of the NSW Police Force has been charged with assault following an incident in the state’s Hunter region.
About 1.30pm on Saturday 15 February 2020, a 39-year-old woman was walking through a Pokolbin music festival with a friend when she was allegedly verbally abused by a woman she knew.
About 4.45pm, the same woman allegedly shoulder-charged the 39-year-old woman when she was returning from the bar. The woman fell and suffered bruising and soreness to her shoulder and chest.
On Wednesday 19 February 2020, the injured woman attended Kurri Kurri Police Station and made an official report of the incident.
Following investigations, officers from the Hunter Valley Police District yesterday (Thursday 5 March 2020) arrested and charged a 27-year-old woman with common assault.
She was issued a Future Court Attendance Notice and a Provisional Apprehended Violence Order and will appear before Cessnock Local Court on Wednesday 15 April 2020.
