NT Covid update 23 January

There were 212 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in the Northern Territory in the 24 hours to 8pm on 22 January 2022. Of these, 155 were positive cases from a Rapid Antigen Test.

This takes the number of active cases in the NT to 3938.

New cases recorded include:

Liebig2 cases at Hidden Valley Camp in Alice Springs1 case at Little Sisters camp in Alice Springs2 cases in Areyonga11 cases in Papunya

There are currently 61 patients in hospital, with nine patients requiring oxygen. There are two patients in ICU.

1365 COVID-19 PCR tests were processed across the NT yesterday.

Public health measures

A Territory-wide indoor mask mandate remains in place.

Several lockouts and lockdowns are in place across the Territory to control the spread of COVID-19.

Lockdowns in Gunyangara, Utopia ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾lands, and Wurrumiyanga will end on Saturday 29 January.

Lockouts in Alice Springs, Amoonguna, Yuendumu, and Yuelamu are in place and will end Sunday 30 January.

A lockdown in Galiwinku will end on Monday 31 January.

COVID-19 testing

Everyone should get tested for COVID-19 if showing symptoms. A number of NT Rapid Antigen Testing and Distribution Points have been established. Individuals can collect RATs for free from NT distribution centres located in Darwin, Katherine, Nhulunbuy, Alice Springs and Tennant Creek.
