NT International Student Of Year Announced 18 November

The 2024 Study NT International Student Awards held at Parliament House on 14 November saw International students, alumni and local employers honoured for their outstanding contributions to the Territory’s community and economy.

Minister for International Education, Migration and Population Robyn Cahill OAM congratulated all nominees, finalists, and winners of the 2024 awards.

“The awards are a fantastic opportunity to celebrate and recognise our international students’ and alumni’s impressive accomplishments and contributions to the Territory, as well as the local businesses that employ and mentor them.”

2024 winners:

Study NT International Student of the Year – Cong Do LeStudy NT International Student Alumni of the Year – Hari SharmaStudy NT International Student Volunteer of the Year – Billy Nafoyo ChepkemoiStudy NT International Student Employer of the Year – NTEX

“Cong, Billy and Hari have each made significant contributions not only to the Territory’s workforce and economy but also to our community through their volunteering activities with a number of organisations such as Lions International Club and Kindness Shake,” said Ms Cahill.

“Local business NTEX is to be commended for embracing International Students into their workforce and demonstrating the critical role international students play in building our workforce and growing our economy,” said Ms Cahill.

From Vietnam, the 2024 Study NT Student of the Year, Cong Do Le, who is undertaking a Master of Data Science at Charles Darwin University serves as a senior mentor for the CDU Student Buddy program and provides advice on scholarships, living expenses, and academic matters to other international students.

The winner of the Study NT International Student of the Year received a $2,000 cash prize, and the Study NT International Alumni of the Year and International Student Volunteer of the Year each receive $1,000.
