Nursing and Health Expo 2023

Australian College of Nursing

The Australian College of Nursing (ACN) hosted the Nursing and Health Expo (Expo) in Melbourne last Saturday, which saw attendees come together to explore career and education pathways for the nursing and health professions.

The annual Expo, sponsored by HESTA, provides a space for prospective and current nursing students to meet with delegates from organisations including hospitals, health care services, educational institutions, and specialty nursing groups.

Attendees heard from a range of practical, skills-based presentations from key leaders within the nursing profession including ACN CEO Adjunct Professor Kylie Ward FACN on a broad range of topics from tips for writing your Curriculum Vitae, job interview skills, to immunisation for health practitioners.

ACN CEO Adjunct Professor Kylie Ward FACN said the Expo provides the nursing workforce the platform to champion what they love about being a nurse to the future of the profession.

“Seeing potential nurses walk into a space where they can hear first-hand why this career is such a rewarding one is a highlight for me every year. Especially in light of the tough few years nurses have had, it is reassuring to know there are thousands of people still interesting in joining the most respected and ethical profession this country has.

“There are so many pathways in nursing and so many opportunities to go into nursing specialities – it is a rewarding career for those who are bright enough, strong enough and compassionate enough to invest in themselves, join our profession and make a difference to millions of people throughout Australia and the world.
