As stated by Detective Senior Sergeant Nicola Cornes:
A Waikato Police homicide investigation is progressing following the death of a man near Huntly last night.
Police were called to a property in Pukemiro at 10:12pm with a report of someone injured in a fight.
Emergency services administered first aid but the man died at the scene.
The man’s body was removed from the property today for a post-mortem examination.
Police continue to examine the scene and have begun speaking to a number of witnesses.
Cordons remain in place.
