Victoria has today confirmed its 13-player squad for Wednesday’s One Day Cup match.
The boys in navy blue will look to consolidate their top 2 position when they lock horns with South Australia at Karen Rolton Oval with first ball set for 10:35 AM AEDT.
Fergus O’Neill and Todd Murphy return following their outstanding performances for Australia A against India A in which the duo combined for 9 wickets.
Josh Brown has been named for his third One Day Cup match for Victoria, while emerging batter Harry Dixon has been included in his first List A squad for his home state.
The 19-year-old has quickly risen through Victoria’s ranks as a hard-hitting, left-handed opener and was Australia’s stand-out batter in the recent Under-19 World Cup.
Peter Siddle will look to continue his rich vein of form following his Player of the Match performance against NSW last round, where the veteran bowler claimed a List A career-best 5/49.
Victoria’s Head of Men’s Cricket, David Hussey, said the group was determined to continue its strong start to the season.
“We’re excited welcome back the class of Fergus O’Neill and Todd Murphy, while Josh Brown will provide the squad with some explosive top-order hitting,” said Hussey.
“It’s exciting to see the likes of Harry Dixon named in the travelling squad. He’s a great homegrown talent and someone we believe has a very bright future ahead.”
Victoria take on South Australia in their fourth One Day Cup match of the 2024/2025 season. Beginning at 10:35 AM AEDT, the game can be seen live on Kayo Sports and cricket.com.au.
