A police officer has been charged with assault offences following an alleged workplace incident.
On Thursday 29 June 2023, an altercation occurred at a police station – within the South West Metropolitan Region – involving a male sergeant and a second officer.
Following extensive inquiries, the 51-year-old sergeant was issued a court attendance notice for assault occasioning actual bodily harm and common assault yesterday (Wednesday 6 September 2023).
He is due to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on Thursday 19 October 2023.
