Officer injured at RBT site

Police are searching for a station wagon and the driver after a police officer was injured at an RBT site last night.

About 5.15pm on Tuesday 25 April, police were conducting breath testing on Elaine Avenue at Seaton when an officer indicated for a car to enter the site.

The silver Holden Captiva with registration S796CLM, stopped for a short time before the male driver started to drive off. An officer reached through the window in an attempt to stop the vehicle from leaving.

The driver closed the window and trapped the arm of the officer. The car moved off and the officer was swung from the car.

The car was last seen heading west on Elaine Street.

The police officer was treated at the scene by SAAS before being taken to hospital. He suffered non-life-threatening injuries including a broken leg.

Western District Detectives are seeking assistance from the public as to the whereabouts of the 2014 silver Holden Captiva station wagon with registration S796CLM and the male driver.

He is described as being aged in his 40s, of Caucasian appearance, about 183cm tall, medium build, with brown hair and blue eyes.
