Three men have been arrested after they allegedly attended the Mount Gambier Prison to visit an incarcerated member of the Hell’s Angels outlaw motorcycle gang.
Police will allege that about 2.50pm on Saturday 2 February, a 31-year-old Ingle Farm man and a 32-year-old Beverley man (both of whom are members of the Hell’s Angels outlaw motorcycle gang), along with a 23-year-old man from Carpenter Rocks (an alleged associate of the Hell’s Angels) met with each other in the car park of the prison, then went to the visitor admission area where they were refused entry.
After further investigation, the trio were arrested yesterday and charged with being present with two or more criminal organisation participants.
The Ingle Farm man was refused bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court today (Thursday 14 March). The other two men were bailed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on 1 May.
Detective Chief Inspector Michael Fisher, officer in charge of the Crime Gangs Task Force says, “South Australia Police are committed to enforcing non-association legislation to disrupt outlaw motorcycle gang members meeting, in order to disrupt their illegal activities and ensure public safety.”
