Four people are in hospital following a single-vehicle crash in Sydney’s west last night.
Just after 10.30pm (Saturday 8 June 2019), emergency services were called to the Greater Western Highway, Girraween, after reports a car had struck a power pole.
Officers from Cumberland Police Area Command attended and located a severely damaged sedan overturned, after it’s believed the driver lost control while travelling west.
Four people were extricated from the vehicle following a rescue operation.
Two occupants were taken to Liverpool Hospital and two were taken to Westmead Hospital.
One is in a critical condition, and three others all serious but stable.
A crime scene was established as inquiries by officers from the Crash Investigation Unit – with assistance from Cumberland Police Area Command – continue.
Police have appealed for anyone with information or dashcam footage of the crash to come forward.
Investigators are also seeking information about a vehicle only described as a red car, that was possibly travelling with the vehicle that crashed.
