A driver has died and a second has been seriously injured in a head-on crash in Sydney’s west this morning.
Emergency services were called to Mamre Road at Kemps Creek after a hatchback and a ute crashed shortly after 6am (Friday 12 January 2024).
One driver died at the scene while a second was trapped for almost an hour before being released. He is being taken by road ambulance to Liverpool Hospital. They were the only occupants; there are no further details available about the deceased driver.
Officers from Nepean Police Area Command are on-site with Crash Investigators en route to the scene.
Traffic is heavy through the area with Mamre Road closed in both directions.
Diversions are in place; light vehicles can divert via Luddenham Road or Wallgrove Road, but heavy vehicles will need to use Wallgrove Road or The Northern Road.
