A man has been charged after a brawl outside Burwood Railway Station that’s left another man in hospital overnight.
Police have been told a fight broke out between two groups of men on Burwood Road, near Deane Street, Burwood, about 11.35pm (Monday 11 March 2019).
The groups separated, but another confrontation occurred minutes later, with a 29-year-old man running at another man who allegedly knocked him to the ground, before leaving the scene.
The man, from Campsie, was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a serious but stable condition, where he is currently undergoing surgery.
Officers from Burwood Police Area Command established a crime scene and spoke to number of men at the scene.
About 12.45am (Tuesday 12 March 2019), two men returned to the railway station and spoke with police.
They were arrested at the scene and taken to Burwood Police Station.
A 29-year-old UK ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾, who is currently living in Petersham, has now been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and affray.
He has been refused bail to appear in Burwood Local Court today (Tuesday 12 March 2019).
A second man has been released pending further inquiries.
