A pioneer in the aged care industry is collaborating with a local General Practitioner (GP) service and Pharmacist, providing a game-changing solution for residents who struggle with travel or no longer drive.
On-Site Health Service has designated a dedicated space within Odyssey Lifestyle Care Communities to ensure residents receive exceptional medical care without the need to leave the comfort of their community.
Odyssey CEO and founder Phil Usher says as care is a cornerstone of Odyssey’s ethos, an onsite GP service was not just forward-thinking but essential.
“By providing access to primary healthcare within our community, we ensure that our residents receive timely and personalised care, without the stress of external appointments,” says Mr Usher.
“Residents can book to see one of the two rostered doctors in clinic, which is located in our Ipanema building.”
Mr Usher says in addition to the GP service, Odyssey also offers onsite physiotherapy, occupational therapy and pharmacy services.
“Our residents have access to a roster of allied health professionals, including six physiotherapists and one occupational therapist, for consultations,” says Mr Usher.
“We also have a resident pharmacist as an extra level of care and expert assistance.
“These services are conveniently available to residents as they seek tailored, professional medication, treatment and guidance—all from the comfort of their own home.”
The Odyssey model is built around a resort style environment where couples stay together, pets are welcome, grandkids can have sleepovers and most importantly, the dignity, independence and wellbeing of residents are highly respected.
