The State Opposition has moved a dissent motion in the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly following her failure to require each Greens MP to apologise for their behaviour in Parliament yesterday.
Yesterday during Question Time, the Greens disrupted the Parliament in protest. It was not the first time.
Today, the Speaker required an apology from the Greens and accepted an apology from only one of the Members.
Three of the Greens Members did not personally apologise.
After the Speaker failed to require an apology from each Member, the State Opposition moved a dissent motion.
Labor voted with the Greens and blocked a debate calling for a requirement for individual apologies.
Manager of Opposition Business, James Newbury, said: “The pattern of activism from the Greens is deeply concerning. The behaviour causes division and is a risk to safety.
“It was deeply disappointing that the Allan Government voted with the Greens to stop a debate calling for fulsome apologies.”
