- New Moonee Beach tower to enhance indoor mobile coverage for residents and businesses.
With indoor connectivity and coverage challenges plaguing Moonee Beach residents over several years, Optus has given the region improved coverage by switching on a new tower in the area, providing the local community with increased network capacity.
The new Optus 5G tower improves the density of the mobile network and has been eagerly anticipated by residents and the business community.
With this targeted coverage solution bringing improved connectivity, coverage, and data speeds, residents and businesses can benefit from a more consistent and reliable mobile network.
Optus Territory General Manager for Northern NSW, Chris Simon, said the new tower is important for Moonee Beach and the surrounding communities.
Local residents and businesses have long been impacted by poor connectivity, particularly indoors, and were pleased that this new tower will improve customers 4G and 5G experience.
The new site will also provide greater capacity to handle the increased customer load during holiday periods, when the area typically receives an influx of tourists, allowing for improved data streaming and scrolling even during periods of seasonal congestion.
Optus customers living, working or visiting the Moonee Beach region can expect faster download speeds, increased network capacity and more reliable connectivity whether at home, work, or on the go. It will also give them a greater choice when it comes to deciding on a network provider, said Mr Simon.
The investment to expand Optus telecommunications infrastructure and mobile coverage is part of an ongoing project to improve range, reliability, and speed across the Optus mobile network.
The tower, located on Solitary Islands Way will provide more reliable coverage and increased capacity to the area, giving customers in the Moonee Beach area a competitive telecommunications alternative.
