Women and families across Victoria’s south west can access coordinated family violence and family wellbeing services, with the South West Orange Door Network now open.
Minister for Prevention of Family Violence Gabrielle Williams announced the Orange Door in South West begins delivering services today – bringing together services across the Southern Grampians, Glenelg, Moyne, Warrnambool and Corangamite to offer women and families multiple ways to access coordinated help.
In addition to Warrnambool, work is underway to establish face-to-face access to The Orange Door network in Heywood, Terang and Camperdown.
The Orange Door network delivers coordinated support for family violence, child wellbeing and family services, ranging from crisis assistance, support for families under stress, safety planning and immediate support for children and families to help access a range of community-based services – including services to help those using family violence to change their behaviour.
Workers at The Orange Door help families access longer term support – including case management, financial counselling and legal assistance, and provide advice to professionals, concerned family members and friends.
The latest Orange Door is a strong partnership between Emma House Domestic Violence Services, Brophy Family and Youth Services, Gunditjmara Aboriginal Co-operative, Winda-Mara Aboriginal Corporation, Grampians Community Health, Uniting, Goolum-Goolum Aboriginal Co-operative and the Victorian Government.
A key recommendation of the Royal Commission into Family Violence, The Orange Door network will be available across Victoria by the end of 2022. It is already operating in 11 areas across the state.
The Victorian Government has invested more than $3.5 billion to end gendered violence since the Royal Commission – more than every other state combined, and more than the Commonwealth.
The Orange Door network in South West is open Monday to Friday between 9.00am and 5.00pm.

As stated by Minister for Prevention of Family Violence Gabrielle Williams
“We’re ensuring families can access all the help they need to rebuild and recover from the impacts of family violence through the one door because we know navigating multiple services can be hard – especially in times of great stress and trauma.”
As stated by Member for Western Victoria Region Gayle Tierney
“The Orange Door will make a real difference for women, children and families in the south west by linking and coordinating family violence, child and family services to provide help when and where it is needed – ensuring families have the best support in person, online or over the phone.”
