AV’s ‘Reflect’ Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) is the culmination of many years’ work and significant contributions of time, knowledge and experience by our people and our communities.
Our RAP received final endorsement from Reconciliation Australia and was formally launched on 29 June 2023 with the Minister for Ambulance, Minister for Treaty and First Peoples, and Minister for Mental Health, The Hon. Gabrielle Williams MP.
We were Welcomed to Country by local Traditional Owners from the Bunurong Land Council, Danny West and his son Josh, at the Dandenong Super Resource Centre, and had the privilege of participating in a smoking ceremony.
Our beautiful RAP artwork was designed by Aboriginal artist Dixon Patten to reflect AV’s reconciliation journey. The artwork represents AV’s special place in our society as first responders and being responsible for our wellbeing and safety and providing lifesaving interventions and medical care.
We continue to progress the building of strong and meaningful partnerships with Aboriginal people, communities and organisations to guide us on our journey towards reconciliation – improving their experiences with AV and learning from 60,000 years of continuing connection to land, sea and culture.
