More than 60 weapons have been seized and a man has been charged after detectives executed a search warrant in Melbourne’s northeast over the weekend.
Mill Park Serious Crime Taskforce detectives executed a search warrant at the residential property in Doreen on Sunday following an investigation into illegal weapon and drug possession.
Detectives seized the following items at the search warrant:
• 9 imitation firearms (gel blasters)
• 30 throwing knives
• 2 samurai swords
• 4 swords
• 2 knuckle dusters
• 3 flick knives
• 2 extendable batons
• 1 imitation firearm and magazine
• 9 assorted knives
• 1 tactical dart shooter with darts in case
• Over $11,000 in cash
• Large quantity of cannabis
• Ammunition
The 37-year-old man from Doreen was charged with possessing prohibited weapons, trafficking and possession of cannabis, possess proceeds of crime and possess ammunition without a licence. He was bailed to appear at the Heidelberg Magistrates’ Court on 10 November.
