A NSW P-plater has been fined, and lost his license for at least six months after he was detected travelling 41km/h above the speed limit on the Bass Highway at Sisters Hills yesterday.
Western Highway Patrol members intercepted the 17-year-old driver about 3.30pm Thursday.
He was detected travelling at 141km/h in the 100km/h zone, and was issued with an on the spot fine of $858.50 as well as 6 demerit points.
Speeding is one of the fatal five factors contributing to the state’s road toll, and places drivers, passengers and all other road users at risk of serious injury due to the increased likelihood of causing a crash.
