A P-plater has been charged after allegedly reversing his car into a mobility scooter yesterday on the NSW South Coast.
About 11.10am (Saturday 10 August 2019), a 19-year-old man, reversed his vehicle out of his driveway on Flinders Street, Eden, and allegedly hit the 70-year-old woman driving a mobility scooter.
She sustained serious head and pelvic injuries.
Emergency services attended the scene and treated the woman before she was airlifted to Canberra Hospital in a serious condition.
Officers from the Crash Investigation Unit attended and established a crime scene.
Following the inquiries, the driver was arrested and charged with dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm – drive manner dangerous and using a mobile phone while driving.
The man’s licence has been suspended.
He was granted conditional bail and will appear before Eden Local Court on Wednesday 9 October 2019.
