State Highway Patrol officers were left shaking their heads after a probationary driver was allegedly clocked travelling at 183km/h in Endeavour Hills last night.
The 21-year-old, with two mates in the car, was pulled over on the Monash Freeway in a 100km/h zone about 8.20pm.
He was arrested at the scene and his Subaru impounded for 30 days.
The Narre Warren man is expected to be charged on summons with reckless conduct endangering serious injury, speed/manner dangerous, careless driving and speeding.
Police are urging motorists to drive to the conditions over this wet weekend.
“Probationary drivers have limited experience on the roads and adding wet weather to the mix – this could have easily ended in tragedy.”
