Corangamite Shire and Regional Parenting Service are hosting a parent forum ‘Food and Mood’ on Monday 14 October, 7 pm at Killara Centre in Camperdown.
Researchers at Deakin University are discovering how everyday diet plays a vital role in our mental health. Research now gives us a better understanding of how the quality of diet during childhood is closely linked to psychological outcomes and quality of life.
To explore the relationship the food we eat has with our mental health, Dr Tetyana Rocks will discuss the impact food has and provide simple practical tips for improving dietary intake in children and adults.
“We’re delighted to have Dr Rocks come and share her expert knowledge,” Council Family and Children’s Services representative Kim Mitchem said.
“Council is committed to improving the health and wellbeing of our community. Supporting the development of our youngest residents is a great investment in the future.”
This free event has been organized in partnership with the VicHealth ‘Walk to School’ and ‘Walk to Wellness’ initiatives and Regional Parenting Geelong.
When: Monday 14 October, 6.45 pm
