Pauline Blight-Johnston appointed partner and life insurance lead

KPMG today announced the appointment of Pauline Blight-Johnston as a Partner in its Actuarial & Financial Risk practice. She will join KPMG on 8 October 2019 and will lead the firm’s life insurance sector.

Pauline is one of Australia’s leading executives in financial services. Pauline joins us from Challenger, where she is the General Manager, Group Strategy and responsible for local and international growth opportunities and strategy, broadening the firm’s relationships with key partners.

Before Challenger, she was Group Executive, Insurance, Superannuation & Risk Management at AMP. In addition, Pauline served as the Managing Director for AMP Life Limited and the ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ Mutual Life Association of Australasia (NMLA), where she led the development and launch of market-leading insurance and superannuation products and launched Australia’s first dynamic pension calculator for retirees.

She also designed and implemented customer-focused remediation programs for the life insurance business and led cultural integrations of AMP and AXA business teams.

Before AMP, Pauline was the Managing Director of Australia for global life reinsurer RGA, with responsibility for Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and Japan.

From 2004-07 she was Chief Financial Officer and Appointed Actuary at life insurer Asteron, and was previously Director at Tillinghast-Towers Perrin. She has been a director of the Financial Services Council, the Institute of Actuaries of Australia and the Australian & New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance; and has had numerous board roles in business and finance groups and institutes.
