Two teens have been arrested after allegedly breaking into cars at Somerton Park this morning.
Just after 1am Tuesday 3 October police were called to Marine Street after vigilant residents reported seeing two people in hooded jumpers using flashlights to look through vehicles parked in the street.
Southern patrols and PD Bandit were called in to search the area, and a short time later PD Bandit picked up a track on Gordon Street. Bandit tracked along Gordon then north onto Scarborough Street where in a nearby carport Bandit alerted his handler that he had found something.
Bandit commenced negotiations and unsurprisingly soon after the two teens came out with their hands up. In their possession police located multiple bank cars and a small amount of cash.
The 15-year-old Seacombe Gardens boy and 17-year-old Plympton Park boy were arrested and charged with illegal interference and theft. The 15-year-old was bailed to appear at the Christies Beach Youth Court on 7 December. Bail was denied for the 17-year-old who will appear at the Christies Beach Youth Court today.
