A man has been charged with serious drug offences after he was tracked down by PD Bandit last night in Elizabeth East.
About 9.30pm Saturday 12 August police spotted a Black BMW travelling along Midway Road. Patrols attempted to stop the car but it failed to pull over. Police followed the car for a short distance before it came to a stop the driver abandoning the car and running into a nearby property.
Northern patrols quickly set up cordons and PD Bandit was called in to assist searching for the man. PD Bandit was able to track the driver through several properties, over Dolphin Street, through a school, over Hornet Crescent and into Lyon Street.
Here PD Bandit located the driver attempting to hide in the front yard of a home. After a quick talking-to by PD Bandit, unsurprisingly he came out without a fuss and was placed under arrest.
Other officers searched the BMW allegedly finding an amount of methamphetamine, fantasy and a large quantity of cash. The car was towed from the scene.
A search of the man’s Salisbury Heights residence uncovered more illicit substances as well as prescription medication.
The 36-year-old Salisbury Heights man has been charged with failing to stop, driving unlicenced, drug trafficking, possessing prescription drug and money laundering. He was refused bail and will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on Monday 14 August.
