Pedestrian dies after crash in Tyndale

A woman has died after she was hit by a car near Grafton overnight.

Just before 10.30pm (Tuesday 26 July 2022), emergency services were called to the Big River Way off ramp on the Pacific Highway, Tyndale, following reports a pedestrian had been hit by a car.

Officers attached to Coffs-Clarence Police District attended a short time later and were told the woman was struck while on the Pacific Highway.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the 45-year-old woman, but she could not be revived, and died at the scene.

The driver of the car – a 62-year-old man – and his passenger were uninjured. The driver was subjected to a roadside breath test, which returned a negative result.

A crime scene was established and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident commenced.
