Police are appealing for public assistance following a pedestrian incident earlier today in Earlville.
At 4pm, an eight-year-old boy was crossing De Jarlais Street when he was struck by a vehicle.
The boy suffered a possible broken leg during the incident.
The vehicle did not remain at the scene and officers are appealing for the driver of the vehicle, which is described as a small yellow car, to come forward.
The car was travelling southbound on De Jarlis street at the time.
Additionally, police are appealing to anyone who may CCTV of the area, dashcam footage or who may have witnessed the incident to contact them.
Investigations into the matter are continuing.
