Polling has closed and the votes have been tallied in the run-off to determine the final paint job for Adaminaby’s Big Trout.
With more than 2600 ballots cast over two rounds of voting, the people have spoken and creator Andy Lomnici’s original design will be recreated and reapplied to the iconic attraction from next week.
A new specialist painter has been appointed by the conservators to ensure that this final coat of paint meets expectations and honours the proud legacy of Adaminaby’s beloved landmark.
This final stage of the long and collaborative process to restore the Big Trout is a big job and getting the details right is delicate work. The painting team will be on-site to get things started from Monday 13 May 2024, and if the weather’s good we should be all done by the end of June.
Council appreciates the frank and honest feedback that we have received from our community during this restoration.
We will have more to share to keep you up to date as work progresses.
