People will die in NSW hospitals due to NSW state government underfunding.
“The number of people attending hospital emergency departments in NSW has increased 42% in the last 8 years but the state government has not increased funding emergency departments by 42%.This has meant half the patients waited too long for care resulting in inevitable increase in unnecessary suffering and even deaths”
Said Dr Con Costa President of NSW Doctors Reform Society
“The Doctors Reform Society warns that if NSW has a flu epidemic in winter this year NSW hospitals emergency departments could be overwhelmed and people could die unnecessarily because of NSW state government underfunding NSW hospitals”
“It is a scandal that the NSW government is spending $2 billion on rebuilding stadiums rather than adequately funding NSW hospitals”
