Perth Cultural Centre To Host Revealed Showcase In 2025

  • Annual celebration of Aboriginal art and culture to be held in Perth Cultural Centre in 2025
  • Revealed is Western Australia’s largest opportunity for Aboriginal artists to sell their work
  • Revealed exhibition opens Friday, 4 April 2025 and the Revealed Art Market is on Saturday, 5 April 2025

After 10 successful years at the Fremantle Arts Centre, the popular and renowned Revealed Aboriginal art exhibition returns to Perth, bringing together Western Australian Aboriginal art centres and independent artists for an exhibition, art market, and more.

The move will see the annual celebration of Aboriginal art and culture hosted in Perth Cultural Centre, reaching new audiences and opening new opportunities.

The WA Museum Boola Bardip will host the hugely popular art market and PICA will host the Revealed exhibition – an unmissable showcase of artworks from emerging Aboriginal artists from across WA.

Artworks may include a wide range of mediums including painting, animation, printmaking, textiles, sculpture and multimedia works from Aboriginal artists in remote, regional and metropolitan WA.

Each artwork shares unique narratives of connection to Country, culture and regional life, giving visitors a better understanding and respect for the diversity of WA’s Aboriginal cultures.

The Revealed Exhibition opens on Friday, 4 April 2025 at PICA.

The Revealed Art Market is on Saturday, 5 April 2025 at WA Museum Boola Bardip.

The new location for the exhibition and the art market have been made possible thanks to a new partnership between the Aboriginal Art Centre Hub Western Australia (AACHWA), Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts and Western Australian Museum.

As stated by Culture and the Arts Minister David Templeman:

“Since taking the reins in November 2023, AACHWA’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander leadership and governance of Revealed has seen great success as their deep understanding and engagement with the Aboriginal art scene across Western Australia reflects the needs and aspirations of artists and communities in the program of public events and professional development opportunities.

“The WA Government is proud to support AACHWA in delivering these Aboriginal-led changes to Revealed, which will profile our artists and communities in a new light and extend audience engagement opportunities for Western Australia’s Aboriginal artists and art centres.”
