Six of the top eight men’s T20 teams – including Australia, England, India and South Africa – will do battle for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in Perth in October.
The McGowan Government, through Tourism WA, successfully bid to host the International Cricket Council (ICC) tournament – with the calendar of fixtures announced today.
Perth will host five Super 12 matches, across four game days, including one double-header and three standalone matches.
The matches will begin in Perth on Saturday, October 22, 2022, the opening day of the tournament, with an evening match featuring world number one England versus Afghanistan.
This match will be followed by Australia versus the Group A first qualifier on Tuesday October 25, before Pakistan competes against the Group A first qualifier on Thursday October 27.
The final Super Sunday fixture will feature a double-header between Pakistan and the Group A second qualifier, followed by India versus South Africa on October 30.
These matches will attract interstate and international visitors to Perth, and generate millions in expenditure for the local economy, while showcasing Western Australia to a global TV audience.
With five matches across a nine-day period, the tournament will create an exciting and vibrant cricket festival experience in Perth for visitors and locals alike.
Tickets to the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup matches will go on sale to the general public from February 7, 2022.

“The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup will cement Perth Stadium as a frontrunner for hosting world class events, showcasing Australia’s best stadium around the world.
“The terrific selection of local matches will maximise the stadium’s potential, with its renowned lighting display set to create the ultimate fan experience, and an unforgettable evening for ticket holders.
“T20 cricket is a fantastic format, and our passion for cricket in Australia is contagious, which will undoubtedly inspire Western Australians to take up the sport across all levels, from grass roots to A-grade competitions.”
