A 57-year-old Nollamara woman is due to face Perth Magistrate’s Court today (Friday, 18 October) on drug trafficking charges after an investigation netted about $500,000 worth of methamphetamine, as well as heroin, cocaine and cash.
Australian Federal Police (AFP) executed search warrants this week at two Nollamara homes linked to the woman and seized approximately 1.1 kilograms of methamphetamine, 350 grams of heroin, 100 grams of cocaine and $100,000 cash.
Some of the illicit items found at one property were in a concealed compartment in a bedside table, while more cash and a drug ledger were hidden under a pillow on a bed, the AFP alleges.
The warrants were the result of Operation Loxton, an investigation launched early this month into a suspected Perth-based drug dealing network.
The 57-year-old has been charged with trafficking a marketable quantity of methamphetamine and heroin and dealing in proceeds of crime worth $10,000 or more, contrary to sections 302.3(1) and 400.6(1) of the Criminal Code 1995.
Illicit items allegedly seized from her Nollamara home include:
- a package of heroin
- approximately 500 grams of crystalline methamphetamine
- approximately $38,000 cash
- an alleged drug ledger
More methamphetamines and cash, as well as cocaine and telecommunication devices were seized from the other Nollamara property.
Police are continuing to evaluate evidence gathered during the investigation and have not ruled out further arrests.
AFP spokesperson Detective acting Commander David Berston said investigators were committed to combatting drug crime.
“This operation shows police will continue to identify, arrest and prosecute those persons who supply illicit substances that harm the community and derive wealth from their criminal activities,” Detective acting Commander David Berston said.
