Free garden mulch will be made available to Cairns region residents this coming weekend, Friday 10 to Monday 13 May.
Green waste received through the recent free drop-off period has been shredded and will be made available from Council’s waste transfer stations for use on domestic gardens.
Mulch is available from the following locations:
- Portsmith Transfer Station, daily 8.30 am to 5.15pm
- Smithfield Transfer Station, Monday to Saturday 7am to 5.15pm, Sunday 9am to 5.15pm
- Gordonvale Transfer Station, daily 8.30am to 5.15pm
- Babinda Transfer Station – Friday, Sunday, Monday 8:30am to 4:45pm (not open Saturday)
A voluntary gold coin donation will support the activities of Ruth’s Women’s Shelter Cairns.
Please note that mulch consists of shredded green waste that has not been cured and quality cannot be guaranteed. Mulch is for domestic use only and can be collected via utility, trailer or light truck up to 4 tonnes maximum GVM.
