- Terry Hill AM appointed as Chair of the Pilbara Development Commission
- His appointment follows departure of outgoing chair Tim Larkin
Regional Development Minister Don Punch has today paid tribute to outgoing Pilbara Development Commission (PDC) Chief Executive Officer Terry Hill AM, after more than eight years in the role.
Under Mr Hill’s leadership the Pilbara Development Commission has driven significant initiatives in the region including economic development, liveability, and culture and the creative industries.
The State Government is currently recruiting for the new Commission CEO.
Mr Hill will transition to the role of Commission Chair to oversee the continued development of the Pilbara and to assist the new CEO.
His appointment follows the departure of outgoing Chair Tim Larkin, who has demonstrated strong regional leadership and provided strategic direction for the Development Commission since 2020.
Mr Larkin has also overseen the delivery of a number of Regional Economic Development Grant projects that are helping to diversify the region’s economy, create jobs and support local business.
Anne Mitchell joins the PDC Board, bringing experience as a member of Aboriginal-organisation Boards and inter-agency committees in the Pilbara.
Regional Development Commissions are key to the Cook Government’s job creating agenda on the ground in regional WA, working to grow and diversify the State’s regional economies.
