Blue Mountains Duo, Piperlain, have qualified as an official entrant is this year’s prestigious ARIA Awards.
Two submissions were entered in the Artisan category and will see the music video clip for the single ‘Time’, from the ‘Time EP’, as well as the EP Artwork progress to the judging phase.
The ‘Time’ music video clip was created in collaboration with Lumicel Animation Studios.
“We initially collaborated with Piperlain back in 2016, telling the emotional story behind the track ‘Embrace’ using 2D animation,” said Anees Meerasahib, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Lumicel Animation Studios.
“With the launch of their latest track ‘Time’, Rebecca had a very unique vision. It was very clear from the get-go how the music video should feel to the audience and the Lumicel artistic team was able to quickly adapt to create a unique animation style to match the song theme and rhythm.”
The awards celebrate the top Australian music industry talent. The qualification process is rigorous and the acceptance into the awards adds to a productive year for the emerging artist duo.
“This is a big milestone for Ben and I and we are honoured to be included for consideration,” says Rebecca Voorn-Knight, lead singer and songwriter, Piperlain.
Featuring songs written during the early stages of collaboration between Piperlain artists Ben and Bec, ‘Time’ is the culmination of years of work and partnership. Recorded at MusicPro studios by engineer Paul Iannuzzelli and mastered at Abbey Road Studios in London by engineer Geoff Pesche, the release has received positive industry reviews.
The ARIA Awards judging is currently in progress with the awards ceremony to take place on November 24th.
