Pistol, cash, and more than 9kg of cocaine located during raids across Sydney’s west, NSW

A man will face court today, charged after police uncovered and alleged safe house and seized a semi-automatic pistol and more than 9kg of cocaine following search warrants across Sydney’s west yesterday.

Earlier this year, detectives from the State Crime Command’s Raptor Squad established Strike Force Parnell to investigate a syndicate allegedly involved in the supply of prohibited drugs.

As part of ongoing inquiries, investigators executed two search warrants at properties in Toongabbie and Carlingford from about 2pm yesterday (Thursday 13 October 2022).

During subsequent searches, police located and seized a 9mm semi-automatic pistol, ammunition, $363,000 cash, more than 9kg of cocaine, and equipment and chemicals consistent with the manufacture and supply of prohibited drugs.

Specialist police from the Drug and Firearms Squad’s Chemical Operations Unit assisted with the operation.

A 27-year-old man was arrested at the Toongabbie address and taken to Merrylands Police Station.

He’s since been charged with knowingly deal with proceeds of crime, supply prohibited drug more than indictable amount, possess prohibited drug, possess unregistered firearm-pistol, possess ammunition without holding licence, organises/conducts/assists drug premises – first offence, supply prohibited drug more than large commercial quantity, and take part supply prohibited drug more than large commercial quantity.

The Toongabbie man has been refused bail and will appear at Parramatta Local Court today (Friday 14 October 2022).

Investigations under Strike Force Parnell continue.
