A pizza delivery driver has been slashed across the face during an armed robbery in Glenroy overnight.
Officers have been told the man arrived at an Apsley Street address to make a delivery when he was approached from behind by a man about midnight.
The unknown man, who was brandishing a sharp weapon, threatened the 22-year-old driver and struck him to the face causing a deep laceration from his mouth to his ear.
The offender was last seen running from the area with the victim’s wallet.
The injured Thomastown man managed to return to the Glenroy pizza store to raise the alarm.
A search of the area by police failed to find the man involved.
