- Carramar Scout Group and Community Hall officially opens
- WA Government provided $3.46 million to build the community hall in Tapping
Minister for Youth Hannah Beazley officially opened the Carramar Scout Group and Community Hall today, fulfilling a 2021 Labor Government election commitment.
The Western Australian Government provided $3.46 million to construct the facility, which provides a home for one of the State’s largest Scout groups, and much needed space for other community groups.
The large new hall space also includes a meeting room, servery area, accessible toilets and a large outdoor area featuring nature play.
The facility will support Scouts WA to grow and engage with more young people in adventurous, fun, challenging and inclusive programs, developing skills for life.
As stated by Youth Minister Hannah Beazley:
“I’m pleased to officially open the Carramar Scout and Community Hall.
“The Carramar Scout Group, which has more than 100 members, finally has a new home after having no permanent gathering place since it began in 2014.
“The Scout program offers an amazing opportunity for young people to learn essential life skills and teamwork, which sets them up for the future.
“The Cook Government is proud to support Western Australian community organisations. It’s important all children have access to extra-curricular activities like Scouts.”
As stated by Wanneroo MLA Sabine Winton:
“The Carramar Scout and Community Hall is a significant investment in the people of Tapping and the surrounding area.
“Our Scouts now have a home-base and this is also exciting for our local community groups as it gives them a special, new place to gather.”
