After two years of COVID disruption, Horsham Rural City Council is hoping to partner with community organisations, groups and businesses to make the 2022 Horsham Seniors Festival extra special.
The month long festival will run throughout October this year, offering a range of affordable and accessible events for seniors to participate in.
Council’s Project Officer Community Inclusion, Dan Rees said that Council will organise and run the seniors concert to be held at the Horsham Church of Christ on Friday 21 October.
“Council also want to support other festival events and activities being delivered by community groups, organisations and businesses,” Mr Rees said.
“Council has a small amount of funding to support other community events being held for the Seniors Festival and this can go towards event costs such as venue hire, catering or promotion,” he said.
The maximum amount that can be offered by Council is $500 per event.
If a group is interested in hosting an event during the Seniors Festival, it can contact Council on (03) 5382 9777 and ask to speak to our Project Officer Community Inclusion to discuss the event and how it can be supported.
The closing date for submitting an event for the Horsham Seniors Festival is Friday 12 August at 5pm. This will allow time for Council staff to contact interested groups and start promoting events in September 2022.
Get involved and together we can look forward to an exciting Seniors Festival later in the year.
