Austrade is seeking expressions of interest from Australian universities that wish to attend the PNG Education Mission in 2023.
The PNG education mission is for Australian universities to visit Papua New Guinea and meet with privately funded students, the corporate sector and shortlisted Australia Awards candidates in Port Moresby, with an option to travel to Lae as well. An alumni function will coincide with the PNG education mission in Port Moresby.
Papua New Guinea is a developing market with a growing appetite for high quality education in Australia. Demand is driven by the proximity to Australia, our shared history, and the quality of Australia’s education offering. In addition, new projects are demanding broader skills that are required by the business community to increase the capabilities of their employees.
According to MIP Orbis, education export earnings from PNG were $76 million, with an average investment of $79,167 per student.
