A man has been arrested after a pursuit through the metropolitan area this morning.
Just after 10.30am on Friday 2 June, police attempted to stop a silver Mitsubishi Lancer sedan on Hanson Road at Woodville North however the driver refused and sped off.
PolAir was overhead at the time and started to track it as it travelled east on Torrens Road and through Brompton.
The Mitsubishi continued around the CBD and then on to West Terrace where it travelled on the wrong side of the road and through red lights.
PolAir continued to track it south out of the city and into Glenside where police successfully spiked the cars tyres in Conyingham Street. The Mitsubishi continued driving through back streets on its rims before heading up Greenhill Road and eventually stopping at Burnside. The driver was arrested without incident.
The car was reported to be involved in a collision with a taxi on Port Road, Thebarton but there were no reports of injuries.
A 33-year-old man from Semaphore Park has been arrested and is expected to be charged with a number of traffic offences.
Inquiries are being made as to whether the Mitsubishi was stolen.
