Police appeal for witnesses and dashcam footage after pedestrian killed in Southern Highlands

Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage after a pedestrian was killed in the NSW Southern Highlands last night.

Just after 11pm (Monday 6 May 2019), a Kia sedan driven by a 21-year-old woman was travelling north on the Hume Motorway, about 2km south of the Sierra Street overpass, Yerrinbool, when it struck a man reported to have been walking in the roadway.

He died at the scene and is yet to be formally identified.

The woman contacted police upon reaching the Picton Road exit, before attending Narellan Police Station, and then being taken to Campbelltown Hospital for mandatory testing.

Officers from The Hume Police District attended the scene of the crash and commenced inquiries.

Detectives are now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or anyone who has dashcam footage to come forward.
