Major Crash Investigators have arrested a man involved in a fatal crash at Paisley, near Blanchetown last night.
Just after 5.30pm on Thursday 18 May, police were alerted to a crash on the Sturt Highway near Paisley Road involving three cars and a truck.
The driver of a Mitsubishi sedan, a 43-year-old man from Somerton Park sadly died at the scene.
A 26-year-old woman from Swan Reach driving a Holden sedan was taken to the Angaston Hospital with minor injuries and a 27-year-old man from West Croydon driving a Nissan sedan was taken to the Lyell McEwin Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The truck driver was not injured.
The Sturt Highway was closed to traffic for several hours while Major Crash Investigators examined the circumstances surrounding the crash. The road was reopened shortly after 3am.
Major Crash officers subsequently arrested the 27-year-old West Croydon man and charged him with cause death by dangerous driving. He was also issued with an instant loss of licence not to drive until further order.
He has been bailed to appear in the Waikerie Magistrates Court on 3 July.
The man’s death is the 52nd life lost compared with 31 at the same time last year.
